We are always accepting resumes for substitute teachers. At Melrose we are always looking for an extra hand to help us when a teacher or assistant is out sick or with family.
To stay within our DCF requirements, our substitute teachers are used as an extra set of eyes in the classroom. We also need help with cleaning up, changing diapers, prepping for activities, singing and dancing, reading books etc.
Substitute teachers are never left alone with the children, unless they meet the DCF requirements. There is no need to plan curriculum and activities, it’s simply a day of playtime and cleaning.
If you would like to lend a hand and play with some sweet children,- we’d be happy to have you join us.
We are a partial day preschool program inspired by the Reggio Emilia Educational Approach. The Emergent Curriculum allows a teacher to listen to children's interests, and then design the activities and provocations that will enhance their learning. Our school is play based to develop skills of self discovery and exploration. Classrooms have a homelike quality and each teacher creates an environment that children can thrive in.... most children don't want to leave when school is over. We like that. ;)
