As a Line Cook in the kitchen you are the heart of our restaurant. You are passionate about good food and exceeding our members' expectations. Each shift, you prepare food items that appear either on the menu or as a special pertaining to your specific station. You carefully follow recipes and work hard to ensure the quality and consistency of the food and that it is ready in a timely manner.
- Serve safe certification
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
Do you work well as part of a team? Do you have excellent customer service skills and a love for hospitality? Are you quick on your feet and able to work in a fast-paced environment? Can you maintain a complete day-to-day knowledge of our menu's preparation and presentation? If so, you may be perfect for this position!
Menu memorization – knowing everything on the menu and how to prepare it is essential to the grill cook’s role. Successful grill cooks should be able to memorize the menu in a short period of time.
Physical stamina – grill cooks spend their entire shift on their feet, and they should be able to do that with ease. They typically also need to lift things up to 40 pounds.
Time management – Line cooks need to manage their time efficiently to get food out to customers quickly. They should also use time management to keep food cooking appropriately.
Communication skills – Line cooks work with several different people at once, they need to be skilled communicators. They should also be skilled at conflict management to ensure interpersonal problems don’t interrupt the kitchen’s flow.
