Job Title: Camp Possible Counselor

We are seeking a dynamic and empathetic Summer Camp Counselor with experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities. The counselor will be responsible for providing support and guidance to campers, ensuring their safety, and facilitating fun and engaging activities that promote socialization, learning, and personal growth while experiencing weekly themed activities such as: water slide, hot air balloon ride, bungee jump and more!
Responsibilities:
• Be responsible for the overall supervision, care, and safety of campers with developmental disabilities.
• Foster a positive and supportive environment, encouraging campers' self-esteem, personal growth, and social skills development.
• Work closely with camp leadership and other counselors to ensure a smooth and successful camp experience.
• Establish relationships with parents or guardians of campers, communicating with them regularly to ensure their child's well-being and progress.
• Assist campers with personal hygiene and daily living, as needed.
• Be proactive in addressing and responding to behavioral issues, and de-escalate situations with care and professionalism.
• Help with the overall upkeep and cleanliness of the center, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
• Record daily observations, document camper progress, and prepare reports to ensure ongoing evaluation and improvement of the camp program.
Qualifications:
• Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
• Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with campers, families, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a fun and fast-paced environment.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Monday through Friday 8AM to 4PM June 12th through July 28th.
