
Monitors and maintains the core computer system and associated technologies to ensure timely processing of critical files, daily and nightly processing, data integrity and system availability. Performs a variety of operational functions designed to ensure secure daily back-up of credit union records, generation of management reports and the accuracy and availability of online banking content. Supports business continuity testing and core system upgrades. Provides assistance to users with the resolution of system and operations related issues. Research, automate and streamline core system related processes and other business unit’s processes. Rotating On call with a 1 hour response time. Serves on corporate and department projects as required.
A minimum of one year up to three years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. Prior Operations specialist experience with credit union and/or banking experience highly preferred.
Education/Certifications/LicensesA two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school. Prior operations specialist in credit union and/or banking experience highly preferred.
Interpersonal SkillsAbility to communicate with supervisors, employees, outside vendors and repair personnel both in person or over the telephone.
Other SkillsAbility to learn and understand the basic computer concepts in order to operate various computer equipment. Ability to work autonomously, often being the only person on a shift, and to complete work in a timely manner. Strong service orientation.
Ability to stand, sit, bend or move in order to perform all job functions with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs and up to 40 lbs daily in order to perform job print functions. This includes standing on a hard surface for the majority of an eight (8) hour shift. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of travel by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Working ConditionsMust be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private office with minimal noise.

The Northeast Florida Credit Union Chapter of the League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU) offers a Credit Union Education Program (CUEP). Community First covers the costs (pays tuition, fees, and books) for all current employees attending credit union courses at Florida State College of Jacksonville (Kent Campus). Courses include: Foundation and Structure of Credit Unions, Human Behavior, Credit Union Mathematics, and Fundamentals of Member Services. You can choose to complete a 6-course program or a 12-course program. Upon completion of either program, employees receive a certificate of completion, monetary incentive, and participate in a graduation ceremony. Additional benefits include networking with other credit union professionals across the region.
Tuition Reimbursement
Community First will reimburse a portion of tuition, fees, and books paid by an employee to a regionally accredited, post-secondary educational institution. The employee must be classified as full-time or part-time and must have worked at the credit union for 90 days. The classes are required to be job-related.
Job Related Certifications and Professional Organization Memberships
Community First will pay membership dues or participation fees to professional organizations for executive and management personnel.
